PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform accurate measurement, by performing scanning only at a time required for measurement with an appropriate storing time being provided, performing the scanning at a time interval shorter than the appropriate storing time during the time other than the time described above, without including errors in the output of each photodiode. CONSTITUTION:A scanning control circuit 4 is composed of a storing time counter 36, a selecting circuit 38, a comparing circuit 40, an R-S.FF42, and a D.FF44. When light is not measured, a self-scanning type solid state light receiving element 2 is not saturated. When scanning is performed, the scanning is repeated with a storing time (a) being provided so that each photodiode becomes an initial state. When the light is measured, the measurement is performed, with a storing time (b) having the appropriate length in correspondence with the intensity of the measured light being provided. Therefore, the self-scanning type solid state light receiving element 2 is always in the initial state when the light is measured. Errors are not included in the output of each photodiode with the storing time (b) being provided. Thus, the accurate measurement is performed. |
