PURPOSE:To inhibit the excessive penetration of paint into the interior of a tubular workpiece to be coated, by partially dipping said workpiece in paint, holding the workpiece to be coated under a hermetically sealed condition, and then dipping the entire body of the workpiece to be coated in the paint. CONSTITUTION:A tubular workpiece 1 to be coated having both ends opened is dipped in paint 6 inside a coating tank 7 under the opened condition as such, to let the paint penetrate into a part of its interior. Thereafter, the inner space of the workpiece 1 to be coated is held under a hermetically sealed condition, the entire body of the workpiece 1 to be coated is dipped in the paint 6, and then the workpiece 1 is separated from the paint 6. Thus, the excessive penetration of the paint into the interior is inhibited, and a uniform coating film is formed. |
