PURPOSE:To distribute and relax stresses effectively by installing a reinforcing element of particular construction for the bead part of the radial tire for a heavy vehicle having a carcass ply of metal cords, and providing effective and sufficient reinforcing effect. CONSTITUTION:The end parts of a carcass ply 11 which consists of a layer of rubberized metal cords are wound up around a bead core 12, and a rubber stock 13 is provided between a carcass ply body 11a and its wound part 11b. A reinforcing layer 14 consisting of highly elastic cords is provided on the outside of the wound part 11b. Furthermore, a guard layer 21 made of organic fiber cords is placed on the inside of the wound-end part 11b and the reinforcing layer 14 so as to be adjacent to both the inside surface of these wound-end part 11b and reinforcing layer 14, and the outside surface of said rubber stock 13, thus distributing and relaxing stresses effectively. A length of at least 10mm. should be secured for the overlapped part l of the guard layer 21 and the wound-end part 11b, and the organic fiber cords of the guard layer 21 are arranged at the angle of about 20 to 70 deg. in the peripheral of the tire. |
