The apparatus according to the invention has the advantage that it can easily be actuated by one man and, furthermore, can be folded in a compact form and is simple to transport and easy to manipulate. The apparatus according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that it comprises: a) a holding rim for fastening to the top part of the mast with a fastening device for a lifting mechanism, b) a lifting mechanism, c) a stabilising arm for the lateral support of the mast, d) a lifting arm on which the lifting mechanism acts, and e) universal-joint bearings for the mast, the stabilising arm and the lifting arm, which are provided with fastening elements for anchoring on the ground or a vehicle. o
