<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an abrasion-proof main shaft also to be non-magnetic by using non-magnetic high Mn alloy steel for manufacturing it. CONSTITUTION:This main shaft is made of high manganese non-magnetic alloy steel characteristic of hardness over Hv 350 and the maximum permeability (mumax) under 1.01. When the maximum permeability (mumax) is over 1.01, the main shaft is magnetized after a long time use. So it is desirably under 1.008mu, and needed to be under 1.01 to be within a practical range. When vickers hardness is under Hv 350, the contact with a bearing often causes scratches, and Young's modulus is also reduced to reduce rigidity. So the hardness must be at least over Hv 350. The captioned main shaft can be obtained by using non- magnetic high Mn alloy steel of the maximum permeability (mumax) over 1.01 and hardness over Hv 350 for manufacturing it. The proper material is, for example, an age-hardening austenite hot metal mold steel composed of 0.04- 1.0%, less than 2.0% SiO, 8-15% Mn, 1.5-3.0% Ni, 5-15% Cr, 1.5-2.6% V, and the remainder Fe, besides containing some of inevitable impurities.</p> |
