PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease in the life of a mold owing to a quenching crack or the like in a mold having a water cooling jacket by inserting and fitting the outside circumference of the mold on the field nozzle side to the mounting plate of the jecket. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve type mold 2 is mounted by means of a fixing plate 7 and bolts 6 to a mold jacket 4. The field nozzle 1 side of the mold 2 is inserted and fitted into the opening 5' of the mounting plate 5 of the jacket 4. The opening 5' is less stressed by the thermal expansion of the mold and is scarcely cracked by quenching, etc. The life of the mold 2 is thus considerably prolonged and the cost of production is reduced. |
