The screw has an asymmetric profile which is oriented such that the load flank (4) has an oblique position relative to the screw axis (7), which oblique position is greater than the oblique position of the load-free flank (5). The asymmetry results in the load flank being strongly inclined even at a relatively small flank angle ( alpha ). This heavy inclination results in the friction force on the load flank being large so that a large torque can be applied to the screw without any risk of tearing out the thread of the nut. The screw is particularly suitable for insertion in plastics and has the advantage over previously known screws for plastics that the permissible tolerance for the drive torque can be increased. <IMAGE> |
