The semiconductor valve cooler (2) has ribs (17) for a directed coolant flow, which are essentially arranged in the form of a star in cross-section. These coolers (2, 3) are used for semiconductor valve columns with disc-shape semiconductor valves (1). The ribs (17) of the cooler mainly extend in the longitudinal direction and are preferably constructed axially parallel or helically. Current and heat are transferred to the semiconductor (1) or respectively coolers (2, 3) via the two contact surfaces (21, 22) of the cooler which are planed parallel to one another. According to one use, one or a number of semiconductor valve columns are combined in an oil-filled tank to form a static converter, the individual columns being surrounded by an insulating jacket (23) which tightly encloses the ribs (17) on the outside, which jacket, together with the rib flanks, limits the directed coolant flows. <IMAGE> |
