APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING A THREAD STORAGE AND FEEDER DEVICE

Control is for storage and feed of a thread to a processing machine, the amount stored being received on a drum acting as a buffer store unit and a corresponding signal generated. The speed of a thread-winding motor is controlled dependent on this signal. The motor speed control signal generated depends both on the amount of thread stored and the actual consumption rate. With the min. and max. permissible amounts of thread stored the motor can be driven at max. and min. speed respectively, while between these two conditions its speed is controlled by a signal derived from the actual consumption rate.
