The invention relates to an electron-beam installation for the electron treatment of metals. The installation comprises an electron gun 1 linked by a beam guide 2 to a technological chamber 3. The cathode 4 of the gun 1 is linked through an electron tube 13 and a rectifier bridge 16 to a high-voltage transformer 17. An ion current sensor 26 is placed in the ion flux liberated by the metal under treatment at the entrance of the work chamber 3 and is connected up to an input 29 of a comparator block 20. The means of recovering electromagnetic energy comprises self-inductors 32 which are earthed and connected up to valves 33 of the cathode set of the rectifier bridge 16 and diodes 34 which are placed in parallel with the self-inductors 32 and are earthed through an RC circuit. The invention can be used in processes of casting and recasting refractory metals and alloys. <IMAGE>
