The load-bearing lining for vertical and horizontal shafts with preliminary lining and backfilling between the preliminary and final lining. The final or load-bearing lining consists of tubular precast reinforced-concrete members. The precast reinforced-concrete members (1) have a rectangular cross-section and, in their outer corner areas, protuberances (6) which project towards the preliminary lining (4), thus forming arches (5), and have bearing surfaces (7), rising at an angle to the individual arch chords (S), for the backfilling (3) subdivided into crests, longitudinal and wide sides of the precast reinforced-concrete members (1) being designed as tension ties (8) for the arches (5). <IMAGE>
