PURPOSE:To attach and detach a discharge lamp and a current limiting device to and from a display device easily and to simplify operation, by forming at least the discharge lamp and current limiting device of a display element in one-body structure. CONSTITUTION:The display element is constituted including the fluorescent lamp 31, high frequency generator 41 for energizing it, and current limiting device 51. The lamp 31, device 41, and device 51 are stored in a case 6 made of, for example, resin or metal and united together. This case 6 has an opening 7 for projection at one end part and a connector 8 for an electric wire connection at the other end part. This case 6 consists of a bottom part 61 and a lid part 62, which are formed cylindrically by adhesion, etc. Then, attachment parts 10 having through holes 9 for attachment to an electrooptic display board are provided on external surface sides of the members 61 and 62. This structure simplifies the attachment to the electrooptic display board consisting of numbers of display elements and also facilitates the maintenance control over the display elements. |
