The invention refers to a method related to firing with moist, powdered coal. The moist, powdered coal is transported in a pipe 19 to a powdered coal burner 26 along a drying stretch, suspended in a heated drying gas. Still moist, heavier, powdered coal is separated from dry, lighter, powdered coal in a cyclone separator 21 ahead of the burner, before being recirculated through the drying stretch.
