PURPOSE:To improve the driving performance and to lower the specific fuel consumption, by preventing creep of a vehicle by interposing a power transmitting mechanism that is coupled when the turbine speed becomes higher than a prescribed value between a turbine and an output shaft. CONSTITUTION:Since a power transmitting mechanism 14 is uncoupled when the speed of rotation of a turbine 7 is lower than a prescribed value, input torque is not transmitted from a turbine 7 to a flange 13, so that an output shaft 4 is not driven. On the other hand, when the speed of rotation of the turbine 7 becomes higher than the prescribed value, the power transmitting mechanism 14 is coupled, so that torque is transmitted to the output shaft 4. In the above arrangement, the setting value of the turbine speed at which the power transmitting mechanism 14 is to be coupled can be determined accurately and with ease since fluctuation of the engine speed is absorbed by the function of working fluid by providing the power transmitting mechanism 14 in association with the turbine 7. |
