PURPOSE:To provide a battery having high energy density, high charge-discharge efficiency, long cycle life, flat discharge voltage, low self discharge rate, and compact size by using aromatic ether compounds indicated in a specified structural formula as an organic solvent of an electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:High molecular compound having conjugated double bonds in a principal chain or a conductive high molecular compound obtained by doping a dopant in said molecular compound is used in at least one electrode of a battery. In this battery, aromatic ether compounds which are indicated in a specified structural formula are used as an organic solvent of an electrolyte. As the high molecular compound having conjugated double bonds in the principal chain, acetylene high polymers are preferable. As aromatic ether compounds, methyl phenyl ether (anisole) and 1,3,5-trimethoxy benzene are preferable. |
