PURPOSE:To obtain a dot printer capable of printing on both sides of paper by a method in which ink ribbons are set on the surface and back sides of paper and a mechanism by which the ink ribbons are alternately set in the face of the printing head is provided. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 1 and an elevating mechanism 6 are placed on a carriage 4 on the surface side of paper 14, and the elevating mechanism 6 is provided with a supporting base 61 for an ink ribbon cartridge 2 and a vertically movable link mechanism 62. By the first electromagnetic plunger 7, the ink mechanism 62 is moved, the ink ribbon cartridge 2 is vertically moved, and the ink ribbon 3 is faced with the printing head 1 or retracted from the head 1. The second ink ribbon 9 is fixed at the tip of paired levers 12 on the back of the paper 14, and these levers 12 are vertically moved a plunger 13 to move them between the printing position between the head 1 and the platen 8 and the retracting position above the printing position. |
