PURPOSE:To improve cold forgeability as well as resistance to heat checks and oxidation in a high temp. region of the titled steel to be obtained, by controlling the amounts of principal components such as Cr, Si, Mo, V, etc. CONSTITUTION:The titled steel has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.05-0.20% C, 0.50-1.5% Si, <=1.0% Mn, 11.5-14.0% Cr, 0.20-1.0% Mo, 0.2-1.0% V and/or 0.20-1.0% W, and the balance Fe with impurity elements. If necessary, 0.20-1.0% Ni or besides the above, one or more kinds among 0.25-2.0% Ti, 0.25-2.0% Nb, and 0.25-2.0% Zr and/or 0.10-1.0% Al is added to the above composition. Owing to the above composition, the above steel is suitable used as materials used in a high-temp. oxidizing atmosphere, such as precombustion chamber for diesel engine, etc.
