PURPOSE:To provide a casing, described at the heading, which is light-weighted, free from corrosion and has various features satisfactrily meeting the demands by making the casing of composite material composed of thermoplastic synthetic resin and reinforcing fiber. CONSTITUTION:The outer casing of a control cable is made of composite material composed of thermoplastic synthetic resin and reinforcing fiber whose content is 5-80% by weight. As the thermoplastic synthetic resin, polyether ether keton, polycarbonate or the like may be suitable and as the reinforced resin, inorganic fiber such as glass fiber or carbon fiber or organic fiber such as aromatic polyamid fiber may be added. Any combined material composed of 2 or non kinds of those may be allowed and either short or long fiber may be selected. If the coefficient of the longituidnal linear expansion of the outer casing is set below 4X10<-5>/ deg.C, dimensional stability may be secured. |
