PURPOSE:To improve steering stability in the driving on a curved way by detecting any acceleration in the lateral direction of a car, then by lowering the assist power of a power assist unit, when the detection signal shows that the acceleration of a car is increasing. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid valve 21 is provided on a supply path 14 which sends working oil from a pump 13 to a control valve 3. The valve 21 controls the oil amount supplied to a control vale 3 by returning a part of working oil to a tank through a bypath 22 and a returning path 20. The solenoid 21a of the solenoid valve 21 is connected with a controller 23, and the controller 23 controls the valve 21 so as to lower the power assist power when the acceleration is increased, by controlling the electric power supply from a battery 26 to the solenoid valve 21 by inputting each signal from a car speed sensor 24, manual transfer switch 25 and a lateral acceleration sensor 26. |
