PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of stress corrosion cracking, by providing a ferrous sacrificial anode in the part where internal stress is generated in a absorption type cooling and warming machine for water made of stainless steel wherein an aq. soln. consisting essentially of lithium halide is used as an absorbent. CONSTITUTION:Strong internal stresses are generated weld zones 2 of stainless steel pipes 1 and stress corrosion cracking is generated therein, in an absorption type cooling and warming machine for water wherein an aq. soln. of lithium halide such as an aq. soln. of lithium bromide or mixed soln. of lithium bromide and lithium chloride is used as an absorbent. In order to prevent such cracking, an iron material of <0.45% C is mounted as a sacrificial anode 3 to the position of the part 2 such as the weld zone where internal stresses are high or near said position by welding, brazing, bolting or cauling. The stress corrosion cracking by the effect of the aq. soln. contg. lithium halide is prevented at a low cost. |
