PURPOSE:To prevent sticking of spatter on a titled tip during welding and to enable the long-term use thereof, by applying a covering layer consisting of an insulating material on the outside surface of a tip body. CONSTITUTION:A covering layer 5 consisting of an insulating material such as a plastic or the like is provided on the outside surface of a tip body 1. Sticking of the spatter produced from a welding electrode on the tip 1 is obviated in the case of mounting the tip 1 to the forward end of a cable A and performing the welding work because the covering layer 5 of the insulating layer is applied on the outside surface of said tip. The long-term use of the tip 1 is thus made possible, and since no extraneous materials stagnate between the tip 1 and the metallic nozzle on the outer side thereof, the flow of gas is good and the welding is executed satisfactorily. |
