PURPOSE:To improve the throughput, by storing information concerning the use period of lock on a main storage in case of a successful lock and reducing the number of times of ineffective lock request operation due to other processors in a multiprocessor system. CONSTITUTION:A multiprocessor system 100 consists of four processors 101-104, a main storage 120 interleaved with four banks 121-124, and a main storage controlling part 110, and the bank 121 is provided with a lock 200, and one byte of the lock 200 is a lock field, and the number of clocks in the period of the lock use is stored in other three bytes. When the processor 101 excludes the participation of other processors and locks the bank 121 of the main storage 120 for the purpose of refererring to or updating information of the system, the processor issues a lock request command to the main storage controlling part 110; and when the priority level of the processor 101 becomes highest, the compare and swapper function is executed for the lock 200 of the bank 121, and lock data is written in each type for lock. |
