The device for modifying or repairing non-visible conductor-track patterns on multilayer printed-circuit boards, conductor tracks being cut by drilling or milling, ensures that only the desired conductor track is cut, in that an indicator is connected to the tool, which indicator is also electrically connected to the conductor track to be cut or to the conductor track located underneath the conductor track to be cut and, when the tool touches the relevant conductor track, generates a signal which triggers either an optical or an acoustic indication or stops the drive or the feed.
