The excitation circuit rectifies the secondary voltage of a transformer on the input side of the static converter that supplies the d.c. motor and uses the result to construct control pulses for the converter's thyristors. The rectified voltage, proportional to the secondary voltages of the transformer, is passed to an amplifier and rectified in accordance with the conduction angle of the converter's thyristors. Several such voltages may be obtained from each transformer in the converter. The advantage lies in reducing the number of components needed to generate a voltage proportional to the motor's voltage. |
