PURPOSE:To cut the circumferential wall of a tank easily with good accuracy, by fixing a guide rail horizontally on the inside wall of the circumferential surface of the tank, holding a gas cutter on the guide rail and moving a nozzle horizontally. CONSTITUTION:Rubber rolls 12 are placed on a guide rail 12, and the rubber rolls for driving among said rolls are rotated to move a gas cutter 1 horizontally. A side plate 11 is cut with a nozzle 17 of which the distance from the plate 11 is regulated so as to be maintained constant. After the side plate is cut for a required length, the operation of removing the rail 2 forward and joining the same forward is carried out successively until the cutting over the entire circumference is completed continuously. The circumferential side wall of the tank is thus cut horizontally and the operation for preparatory plans in the horizontal cutting is accomplished easily and quickly. |
