PURPOSE:To determine the quantity of copper ions simply and accurately without experienced skill by detecting the quantity of copper ions from the shade of color of a chelate compound produced by the reaction of the copper ions a reagent, and by comparing the shade with those in a standard color sample chart. CONSTITUTION:A solution to be tested in a quantity of 10ml is put in a measuring test tube 5. One tablet is put therein, and the tube is shaken until the tablet is dissolved. This opertion is ended in about five to ten minutes. Next, butyl acetate of 10ml, which is used as an extractant, is put in the measuring test tube 5 and shaken well. Then, the tube is left still, and when the solution is separated in two layeres, the shade of the yellowish brown-colored upper layer is compared visually with a standard color sample chart, wherefrom the prescribed quantity of copper ions can be known. The abovementioned tablet 1 contains sodium diethyldithiocarbamate as a reagent, and the tablets in the necessary number, each weighting about 0.2g, are held in a desired sealed bottle 2. |
