PURPOSE:To produce H-piles which have joints of good accuracy in shape and permit easy and sure jointing by subjecting the H-shaped steel obtained by hot rolling to forming of joints by the use of tandem type rolling mills after a finishing stage. CONSTITUTION:The top ends of the flanges of the H-shaped steel 18 obtd. by hot rolling stages having a roughing stage with breakdown rolling mills, an intermediate rolling stage with roughing universal mills and edge mills, and a finishing stage with finishing universal mills are subjected to roll forming of joints with tandem type roll forming machines provided in the above-mentioned finishing stage. Said roll forming machine has driven horizontal rolls 20 and non- driven vertical rolls 22, and forms the 1st joints of a light angle then the 2nd joints of about 90 deg. in the end parts of the flanges of the steel 18. The lst joints are bent deeply in the final forming stage, whereby the joints of high accuracy are formed. |
