A device for re-reeving a lifting rope (7) from two-fall to four-fall operation is arranged on a crane with a travelling crab (2). This device consists of a pull-out re-reeving block (13) on the one hand, which is arranged in a receptacle of a snatch block (8) located between two rope pulleys (10, 12) and has a rope pulley (11) and an anchor, and of an automatically acting suspension means on the other hand for the anchor of the re-reeving block (13), which suspension means is arranged on a roller support (4) of the travelling crab (2). In order to improve such a device in such a way that a reliable connection is produced between the re-reeving block (13) and the travelling crab (2), i.e. a connection which cannot be unintentionally released either by the heaviest sudden load alternation in the lifting rope (7) or by operator error, the suspension means consists of a perpendicularly slotted location plate (15) which can be locked by a catch (17), and the anchor of the re-reeving block (13) consists of a transverse web (14) which is arranged at the top end and whose longitudinal axis runs parallel to the rope-pulley axis. <IMAGE>
