Window-closing device controlled as a function of time, having a pull cord (3) which can be wound on a drum (1) and which can be partially unwound from this. The drum (1) is equipped with a restoring spring which is respectively tensioned during the opening of the window. By means of a detent pawl (25) engaging into a toothed rim (10) of the drum (1), the drum (1) is retained in the tensioned position of the restoring spring. The detent pawl (25) is under the influence of a mechanical time switch (32) and, after a ventilation period which can be set as desired has expired, releases the drum (1) or the restoring spring in order to close the window. So that the force accumulator of the time switch is also tensioned during the opening of the window, there is arranged between the toothed rim (10) of the drum (1) and the wind-up gear wheel (41) of the time switch a gear-type connecting member (55), which is in engagement with the toothed rim (10) and which is brought into engagement with the wind-up gear wheel (41) as a result of the unwinding rotation of the drum (1). To guarantee an unimpeded run-off of the time switch, at the end of the unwinding rotation the connecting member (55) is respectively uncoupled from the wind-up gear wheel (41) again. <IMAGE>
