PURPOSE:To prevent reuse of a defective floppy disc in advance and to improve the reliability with the presence of visual defective marks, by discriminating the defective floppy disc and marking the defective mark automatically. CONSTITUTION:If write/read errors take place, an error processing means 13 operates the error parts repetitively for recovery. A repetitive operating number accumulating means 14 accumulates the number of repetitive operations done for the time. A defect discriminating means 15 inputs the accumulated value of the means 14 and compares the value with a set value. When the value is the set value or over, the said floppy disc 2 in use is disable for write/readout and it is discriminated as a defective medium. A defect mark writing means 16 responds to a defect discrimination output and writes a mark displaying ''defect'' on a label part 21 of the defective floppy disc 2. |
