PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent erroneous operation, by providing an original detector and means for automatically resetting paper feed, and as well by automatically switching the paper feeder into its normal rotation side after the lapse of a predetermined time period from the time when the reversing step using turning belts is completed. CONSTITUTION:An original detector 10 and means 9 for automatically resetting paper feed are provided in the device. When the device is set to its manual feed side, rotation is transmitted successively through a pulley 61, a belt 62, a pulley 63, a ratchet wheel 64, a floating ratchet wheel 72 and a rotary shaft 4 in the mentioned order, so that turning belts 4 rotate clockwise for enabling an original 10 to be manually fed. A timer (not shown) supplies electrical power to a solenoid 91 when a detecting signal from the original detector 10 disappears in a predetermined time after the transmission of the original 2 is completed, and therefore, the solenoid 91 is energized to attract a plunger 92 for resetting a lever 81 to its automatic paper feed side. With this arrangement, the automatic paper feed may be ensured without requiring particular attention upon the original 2 being inserted. |
