To allow operation of a shear forming machine (3), a loading device (1) and an unloading device (2) for the machine can be swivelled out of the region of the tool slides or the tailstock. The forwardmost part of the feed grating, the end portion (13), is pivoted upwards in order to free the path of motion of the tailstock (4) and, in this position, serves as a stopper for the following workpiece. The unloading device (2) is three-membered, with a first member (9) which, with its concave rollers (20), functions as a lifter (8) and with a second member (10) which, with its projecting longitudinal portion (16), serves as part of the rolling surface (32) of the delivery grating (7), and with a third member (11) the vertical position of the unloading device (2) is adjusted. All three members (9, 10, 11) are pivoted between just two end positions, which are determined by the stops (22 to 27). The unloading device is actuated via actuating elements (17, 18, 19) from below the rolling surface (32). <IMAGE>
