PURPOSE:To reduce facility cost and installation space, and to improve the operability of a welding machine by attaching a welding gun which has neither a pressure cylinder nor a feeding means to a jig fixing part, and providing a pressure feeding device outside of a jig. CONSTITUTION:Both panels 18 and 19 are mounted on a gauge plate 17 one above another, and a clamp arm 22 is closed through a clamp cylinder 24 to clamp and fix them. Then, an industrial robot operates and an arm 6 operates to move arms 4 and 5 of a pressure feeding device 16 until the arms clamp rear end parts of arms 3 and 32 of a spot welding gun 28. A cylinder 9 is put in operation through a timer 1 and a solenoid valve 15 to close arms 4 and 5, thereby closing rear end parts of the arms 31 and 32 into contact. As a result, electrode chips 33 and 34 clamp both panels 18 and 19 at tip parts of the arms 31 and 32 with prescribed pressure, and under the command of the timer 1, a secondary current is conducted from a welding transformer 2 to the gun 28 to weld the panels 18 and 19. |
