PURPOSE:To omit the process of sintering the first layer, and widely simplify the drying process of the second layer by applying a phosphor coating by the conventional method before the said phosphor coating is dried so as to form the first layer, and forming the second layer by a spray method. CONSTITUTION:The inner wall of the tube of a two-layer-coat fluorescent lamp is coated with the first phosphor layer formed by applying a usual coating made of a white calcium-halophosphate-system phosphor or the like by the conventional flow-down method, and drying the said coating. After that, a coating made of a white phosphor prepared by mixing three different-colored compounds such as rare-earch phosphors is applied to the first phosphor layer by spraying this coating from both ends of the tube. By the means mentioned above, the process of sintering the first layer can be omitted, and drying work of the second layer can be widely simplified. |
