PURPOSE:To continuously detect the tension of a rope regardless of normal output control action, emergency scram action and the like by continuously monitoring changes in actual load working on a rope for a control rod driver through a potentiometer. CONSTITUTION:A rope 6 hanging a control rod 4 contacts a pulley 13 and a partial force accompanied by the weight of the control rod 4 works on a pulley supporting fixture 21 including a pulley 13 so inclined to ballance a spring 31 adjusted with an adjusting screw 32 thereby determining the position of the pulley supporting fixture 21 when only the control rod is applied. The electric resistance of a potentiometer 27 at the position serves a reference. According to changes in the actual load hung on the rope, a pushing force of the rope 6 on the supporting fixture 21 varies to cause a change in the resistance value of the potentiometer 27 fastened on a rotating shaft 24 thereof 21. This enables continuous detection of the rope tension regardless of normal output control action, emergency scram action and the like. |
