<p>PURPOSE:To correct the zero point of detectors for rate of roll opening between vertical rolls automatically and quickly with high accuracy by detecting the extents of movement of rods which move and abut on the rolls and operating the actual rates of opening of the rolls. CONSTITUTION:Vertical rolls 4 are adjusted of the rate of opening by means of screw-down screws 7 via bearing boxes 5 and roll supporting frames 3 and are detected of the rate of roll opening with detectors (not shown in diagram) for the rate of roll opening which detects the revolutions of the screws 7 electrically. For the purpose of correcting the zero point in the detected values of the rate of roll opening, detectors 10 for correcting the zero point are provided and the actual rate of opening of the rolls 4 is detected. To this end, sensors 14 inserted through the holes 11 of the frames 3 are provided to the rods 12 abutting to the rolls 4 to detect the actual positions of the rolls 4 and in accordance with the detected values thereof, the rate of opening of the rolls is operated by a computer not shown in diagram, whereby the zero point of the detectors for the rate of roll opening is corrected.</p> |
