PURPOSE:To selectively set the springy characteristic and damping force characteristic by installing a control tube fitted with an inner tube inside the oil storage chamber of an outer tube and allowing the inside and outside of the control tube to communicate through a bypass passage equipped with a throttle mechanism. CONSTITUTION:As the compression cycle proceeds, the fitting between a control tube 3 and an inner tube 2 is increased, and the flow-out resistance of the working oil which flows out into the outside from the inside of the control tube 3 through the gap 7 between the both tubes 2 and 3 increases. While, as the process proceeds, the pressrue on the inside of the inner tube 2 sharply increases, and also the damping force generated by the flow-out resistance increases. Therefore, even if the repulsive force of a pneumatic spring and the damping force are set weak in order to obtain the comfortable drive feeling, the repulsive force of the spring and the damping force sharply increase, as the compression cycle proceeds, and the bottom contact of the buffer is prevented. Further, the springy characteristic and the damping force characteristic can be set properly by varying the opening degree of a bypass passage 9 by a throttle mechanism 10. Therefore, the comfortable drive feeding of a motorcycle can be obtained. |
