Feed composition exhibiting improved pelleting characteristics and including a lignosulfonate based pelleting aid, which aid contains dried, substantially water soluble, through oxidative crosslinking and/or aldehyde coupling modified sulfonated lignins containing material, especially thus modified calcium, magnesium, sodium and/or ammonium based sulfite spent liquor, and which aid exhibits a viscosity of not more than 10 000 Cp measured in a 25% by weight aqueous solution at 23 DEG C. The invention also relates to a new pelleting aid which contains dried, substantially water soluble, sulfonated lignins containing material which has been modified by oxidative crosslinking, for example using hydrogen peroxide, in the presence of a salt or a complex salt of a metal ion which capable of existing in several different valency states, for example a cyanoferrate (II) or -(III) salt, as an activator, and which exhibits a viscosity of not more than 10 000 cP measured as above. The invention further relates to the process for preparing the pelleting aid according to the invention. |
