PURPOSE:To reduce the number of response packet, by transmitting data packets after responses are added. CONSTITUTION:It is considered here as an instance that a multiple address packet B1 is transmitted from station S1 to stations S2-S6 and the packet is received by stations S2-S5. Since stations S3 and S4 have data packets to be transmitted when they receive the multiple address packet B1, they transmit packets to which responses are added as packets DA3 and DA4. Station S1 receives the DA3 and DA4 and, when the packets contain any answer to the packet B1, the station receives the answer. Station S2 delivers its packet as packet DA2 because a data packet to be delivered within the period of answer postponing time TR is generated, and station S5 delivers a response packet A5 at the end of the answer postponing period TR because no data packet to be delivered within the period of answer postponing time TR is generated. Since station S1 does not receive any answer from station S6 even after the answer monitoring time TS has passed, the station sends the multiple address packet again to station S6 and waits for the answer. |
