PURPOSE:To protect the surface of a photosensitive drum and prevent the photosensitive layer from light fatigue by covering the drum with an attachable/detachable opaque flexible sheet. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 3 for an electrostatic copying machine is completely covered with a cylindrical protection sheet 1 consisting of a polyester flexible sheet or the like whose surface is coated with a carbon layer to apply opaque treatment and utilized for the attachment/detachment of the drum to/from the copying machine. It is adopted to wind an endless cylindrical protection sheet 1 around the drum. In addition, knob parts 2c are convenient for attachment/detachment of the drum. Since the protection sheet is opaque and checks the transmission of light, the surface of the photosensitive drum can be prevented from light fatigue. |
