摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain compactness in an automatic speed change driving gear for an FF-type automobile, by providing a gear speed change mechanism to an output shaft of a torque converter, connecting counter shafts parallelly further through an endless chain to an output shaft of said mechanism and providing another gear speed change mechanism to said counter shafts. CONSTITUTION:The first gear speed change mechanism 12, containing the first and second planetary gear mechanisms 15, 16, is coupled to an output shaft 14 of a fluidic torque converter 3 connected to a crankshaft 2 of an engine 1. The first and second counter shafts 70, 71 are parallelly arranged to an output shaft 40 of said speed change mechanism 12, and the output shaft 40 and the counter shaft 70 are coupled by an endless chain 72 wound onto chain wheels 53, 54 mounted to each of said shafts. Then the second gear speed change mechanism 13, used as an overdrive mechanism is interposed between the both counter shafts 70, 71. Said speed change mechanism 13 is constituted from a planetary gear mechanism 41 to connect respectively the first counter shaft 70 to its carrier 45 and the second counter shaft 71 to a ring gear 44.
