PURPOSE:To enable a metal conductor used as a second terminal to be easily installed within a ceramic emission tube without altering the structure of the tube by extending the said metal conductor from a sealing part formed between the tube and a ceramic cap blocking the end of the tube. CONSTITUTION:An emission tube 1 is made of a polycrystal or monocrystal ceramic member such as polycrystal alumina. Caps 2 are made of the same member as that of the tube 1, and are attached to both ends of the tube 1 so that the above ends are blocked with the caps 2. A heat-resisting conductive metal tube 3, to which an electrode is fused, is made to penetrate the cap 2. A metal conductor 4 is fused to a sealing part, which is provided between the tube 1 and the cap 2 and is formed of sealing glass or the like, so that the tube 1, the cap 2 and the conductor 4 are unified together. In addition, the ends of a filament-type starting electrode 6 are connected to the conductor 4 and the conductive metal tube 3. As a result, the conductor 4 can be installed easily without altering the structure of the tube 1. |
