PURPOSE:To obtain a VTR erase head which can effectively erase recordings from low frequency region to high frequency region, by setting the difference of gap depths of gaps at both sides of a rod head core to a specific value or more. CONSTITUTION:A rod-shaped head core 2 is clipped with C type cores 1a and 1b, and gaps 4a and 4b inserted with a glass material or the like are formed at both sides between the C type cores 1a and 1b and the head core 2. The tape running side of the head is formed so that the difference between a gap depth h1 on one side and a gap depth h2 on another side is >=0.15mm.. Thus, effective erasure can be performed over the entire region from low to high frequencies by varying the gap depths h1 and h2. |
