Gas-hydraulic vibration damper - has needle valve to control fluid and laminated resilient mounting

The damper has a body (1) with a lower cavity (12) containing a gas-filled toroid (4). This cavity is filled with hydraulic fluid. The upper support (2) of the damper has an internal resilient mounting (6) connected to the central shaft (13) of the body. The cavity (17) enclosed by the upper support and the resilient mounting is also filled with hydraulic fluid. The two cavities are interconnected by a passage (11) with an orifice (111) through which passes a needle valve (15) connected to the moving support (2). Over-expansion of the resilient mounting (6) is prevented by the inclusion of the cylindrical laminations (9).
