PURPOSE:To improve lamp performance by effectively using a metal holder which is one of component parts. CONSTITUTION:A getter material is pre-applied to both surfaces of a metal holder 4 or its one-sided surface. As soon as the exhaust of the inner part of a lamp is completed and an exhaust pipe 13 is chipped off, the metal holder 4 and a getter material 20 are heated by the high frequency induced heat and the impure gas left behind in the lamp is absorbed in the getter material 20. By using a nickel plating iron plate as the metal holder 4 and a Zr-Al alloy (zirconium-aluminum alloy) as the getter material 20, the residual impure gas in the lamp can sharply be reduced as compared with a conventional lamp. |
