Class 75(4) An anti-dazzle and fog-penetrating device for vehicle and like lamps comprises a cylindrical cage F for the light bulb and having transverse opaque louvre strips B extending over half the circumference of the cage to form, parallel with the light-emitting face of the lamp, circumferential slots, the other portion of the cylinder being in the form of a continuous reflecting surface C of truncated V- or similar shape whose base D is curved upwards at the front end so that when the device is placed in the lamp, rays from the bulb G are screened from direct emergence from the lamp and from the bottom portion of the reflector H and are directed to the upper portion of the the reflector H to be projected from the lamp horizontally and downwardly. The cage is attached by bolts or rivets passing through lugs J to the reflector H or it may be supported by one or two arms from the lamp front. Side wings at the rear of the cage may be provided if required to intercept any rays proceeding from the sides of the bulb and eliminate any lateral dazzle. The slots may be wider towards the rear of the cylinder than they are towards the front. Specifications 380,562 and 527,793 are referred to.</p> |
