A drainage board is used for supporting sheets of chips or fibre from wood or other lignocellulose materials when hot-pressing same to form boards. This drainage board has slits 19 lying comparatively close together, and these slits, towards the upper surface of the board, are sufficiently narrow to prevent the sheet material slipping through, while allowing vertical drainage. Towards the lower surface they are made considerably wider as they continue out into the open so that, when pressed together with the underlay, drainage channels 21 are formed which are sufficiently spacious to allow for horizontal drainage without causing any harmful pressure- rise in them. <IMAGE> |
