摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a fluorescent screen, which has excellent density and evenness and provides picture quality of a high luminance and a high resolution, by providing a glass base plate with both a lower layer consisting of large phosphor grains and an upper layer consisting of small phosphor grains by taking advantage of the difference between the floatings of phosphor grains depending upon their dispersibilities. CONSTITUTION:At first, a suspension liquid 5 is stirred without applying voltage to an electrode 6 and a cathode member 8 also serving as a support, by rotating a rotor 9 by means of a stator 10. Next, the suspension liquid 5 after being stirred is allowed to settle, so that small phosphor grains remain in the upper part of the liquid 5 and large phosphor grains settle in the lower part of the liquid. Then, a glass base plate 7 is moved downward, and electrodeposition is carried out by applying voltage to the electrode 6 and the cathode member 8 so as to make large phosphor grains 11 to adhere over the surface of the plate 7 and to form a large grain layer 12. After that, electroposition is carried out subsequently by moving the base plate 7 by means of a shifting equipment so as to make small phosphor grains 13 to adhere over the large grain layer 12 and to make a small grain layer 14 to be formed subsequently.
