PURPOSE:To detect relative positions with inexpensive constitution without causing chattering by providing electrodes and bridging parts which are juxtaposed at prescribed intervals into one body, and detecting the change in the resistance value between a contactor sliding in the juxtaposition direction of the electrodes on the resistance layer disposed on the electrodes and the bridging parts. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 2 of a conductive material 1 made by blanking a metallic plate in a comb-tooth shape are formed at sufficiently large pitch (l) with respect to the width W thereof. A resistance layer 4 of the thickness (h) of about 10<-2>l in contact commonly with the electrodes 2 is disposed thereon. The current waveforms or voltage waveforms by the electric current flowing between a contactor 5 having a contact part 5a contacting the top surface of the layer 4 and the bridging parts 3 of the electrodes 2 when said contactor 5 slides on the layer 4 are detected with a detecting circuit 9. With such inexpensive constitution, the relative positions between objects are detected without causing chattering. |
