STRUCTURE OF FLANGE OF HEAT EXCHANGER

PURPOSE:To improve the safety, by welding stretchable bellows of a metal thin sheet into a space in an outer circumference of a flange. CONSTITUTION:A slit 15 having a hight (a) and width (b) is formed in each of an upper flange 1 and a lower flange 3. The strechable bellows 14 of a thin metal sheet are attached with its upper end welded to the upper flange 1 and its lower end welded to the lower flange 13 as shown by the reference numeral 16 to seal the inside of the arrangement from the atmosphere. Therefore sodium mist or sodium vapor intruded into the space between the upper and lower flanges can be prevented from leaking to the atmosphere, and in addition the arrangement can be stretched or contracted longitudinally.
